Gosman has remained a dedicated family business since day one. Operated across three generations out of Madison, the company was built by a veteran owner with a construction history dating back to 1965 — nine years prior to Gosman’s founding in 1974.
This mindset is a practical reality, not just a slogan: from estimating your project and constructing your building to answering your questions, our entire team works directly out of a single Madison location.
After more than 50 years in this community, our name remains connected to the buildings we built. Much of our work still comes from referrals and repeat customers.

More than 50 years of building. Our crews load out here in Madison and build across Southeast Indiana and Northern Kentucky.

Madison Metals
Roofing, siding, trim, board and batten and standing seam are all manufactured here on our own machine. It sells to the public and to other contractors too, but every panel on a Gosman building comes from here.

Madison Truss
The trusses are engineered and built on this property. Separately run, same site — which means the second-largest component of your building is also made here, not ordered in.
What making our own metal changes
Here is what that local manufacturing setup means for your building.
- Coordinated paint codes
- Roof, siding, trim, and wainscoting are produced to coordinated paint codes for a clean, consistent look.
- Panels cut to your building
- Lengths made for the barn, instead of the barn drawn around the lengths somebody stocks.
- Repairs and small orders
- For repairs or smaller material needs, ask us about replacement panels and trim.
- One local operation
- Our building crews, steel operation, and truss operation all work from the same Madison property. That helps us coordinate materials and scheduling.
We do not claim an exact match to a building erected years ago. A shared paint code does not guarantee identical coils, and steel naturally weathers over time. Board and batten and standing seam are manufactured on the same machine, in the same colors.
