One family. One Madison property. Over 50 years.
Gosman has been building post frame barns out of Madison, Indiana since 1974. The same family runs it, from the property on US 421, in the third generation.
The short version
Gosman started by building barns for farms around Jefferson County — the owner had already been building since 1965. Today, shops and detached garages are a large part of our work, along with farm, commercial, and shell buildings, and we are still a local family business.
Somewhere north of fifteen thousand buildings have gone up in that time. We have kept a digital record of every job since 2001: 7,144 buildings across nineteen counties in Indiana and Kentucky, with the town, the size and what went on each one.
Along the way the family added the pieces that a builder normally has to buy. Madison Metals manufactures the metal on this property. Madison Truss builds the trusses on this property. That local setup helps us coordinate the materials that go into every Gosman building.
We build roughly two hundred and fifty buildings a year. Most of the people who call us heard about us from somebody who already has one.
Which Madison
Worth clearing up, because search engines get it wrong constantly.
We are in Madison, Indiana — the county seat of Jefferson County, on the Ohio River in the southeast corner of the state. Hanover is up the hill, Vevay is downriver, Carrollton and Bedford are across the river in Kentucky.
We are not in Madison County, Indiana, which is up near Anderson outside Indianapolis, about a hundred miles north of here. If you found us looking for a builder up there, we are probably not the right company — our work is in the nineteen counties down here in the southeast corner.
